Everything I Ate in San Diego

San Diego isn’t just about stunning beaches and perfect sunsets—it’s a food lover’s paradise too! From fresh seafood by the bay to mouthwatering tacos on every corner, I indulged in some seriously delicious eats during my trip. Join me as I take you through all the flavors, bites, and treats that made my San Diego food adventure unforgettable. Get ready to crave your next meal!

Our flight landed early in the morning, so we headed straight to Bay Books Coffee Shop on Coronado Island. The shop was so cute and I now think every flight into San Diego needs to be followed by a stroll through Coronado with a coffee in hand. We got the Vienna latte iced, a hot vanilla latte, and butter croissant.

We had basically a whole day to kill before our room was ready, so we had pre-purchased beach rentals at Hotel Del Coronado. It was truly the best way to get acclimated and recover from an early travel day. We enjoyed the live music and some local craft beer between dips in the ocean.

It seems I end up at Puesto any time I’m in Southern California to which I have no complaints! Puesto at the Headquarters was actually where my husband and I had dinner right after getting engaged in 2022, so we figured it was worth a visit back during this trip! The chips and molcajete salsa are *chefs kiss*.

The Serrano Margarita is probably my favorite margarita of all time. Not too spicy..but you can definitely tell the Serrano pepper is there! It was so hard to narrow down which tacos to order, but we ended up with the short rib quesabirria, filet mignon, Baja fish, and Tamarindo shrimp. All were delicious but the short rib quesabirria was my fav!

The next morning we moseyed over to Balboa Park to explore. On the way we grabbed an iced pecan praline latte at Mio + Tuo Cafe, so good!

Had to make a stop at Werewolf American Pub in Gaslamp! The atmosphere here is truly unmatched. We were in time for their brunch menu and got the California Burrito and Cake and Eggs with Blueberry Lemoncakes.

These feel a little random, but I did say ~everything~ I ate! Got a sugar free margarita at the rooftop pool at Andaz San Diego which was so refreshing! I also enjoyed a Stroopwafel with coffee in the room courtesy of United lol. Not sure how I haven’t tried these before, but it was actually so good?

Gaslamp Breakfast Company was outstanding. Vibes, drinks, food..no notes. We got Bloody Maria’s and the Fried Rice Benedict which was so unique and so tasty!

On day 4 of our trip, we made our way up to La Jolla!

First stop, Sugar and Scribe! This was such a cute spot that we just stumbled upon. We got coffee and tried a variety of pastries. All delicious but the Black Forest Smoked Gouda Croissant was a fav!

Always room for ice cream! Killer Whale Creamery was such a vibe and, being from Kansas, we especially loved their art with cows on the beach! Don’t be surprised if you see something like this on my wall sometime soon lol. I got a scoop of blackberry chocolate chip!

I was so excited to have brunch at Brockton Villa and it did not disappoint! Views, food, service was all outstanding. I wish I got more photos of the food, but most of it was eaten too fast for a photo! Definitely recommend the Epic Chowder as well as an order of Coast Toast for the table!

After going through all of these photos, I’m craving a trip back to San Diego to do it all again. Thanks for tagging along and let me know if there’s anywhere I missed that I should hit next time! Until then, safe travels! xx Sophia
